How to simulate, apply for, evaluate, decide on, disburse and collect loans in Compense: the full lifecycle of a loan for affiliates and operators.
On this page
The Loans module covers the full lifecycle of a loan to an affiliate: application → evaluation → decision → disbursement → repayment. The affiliate simulates and applies from the app or the portal; the platform evaluates the risk automatically; the operator decides the amount and the term; and, once disbursed, the affiliate checks and pays their installments.
This guide is written for two profiles:
- Affiliates — the people who simulate, apply for and pay off their loans.
- Operators / advisors — the people who review the evaluation, make the decision and manage the disbursement and the loan portfolio.
Note. Loan products, their amounts, terms and rates, as well as the evaluation rules, are configured by your family compensation fund (caja de compensación). This guide describes the platform’s standard behavior.
The lifecycle of a loan #
A loan application moves through a sequence of statuses from the moment the affiliate submits it until the loan is active and being repaid.
| Status | What it means | Who acts next? |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | The affiliate is filling in the application and hasn’t submitted it yet. | Affiliate |
| Submitted | The application was submitted; it enters the evaluation queue. | System / Compensation fund |
| Under review | The platform evaluated the risk and the operator is analyzing it. | Operator |
| Information pending | The operator requested additional documents or data. | Affiliate |
| Approved | An amount and a term were approved; signature and/or disbursement are pending. | Affiliate / Operator |
| Disbursing | The funds are in transit to the affiliate’s account. | System |
| Disbursed | The funds arrived; the loan becomes active and starts repayment. | — |
| Rejected | The application was denied with a reason. | — (final status) |
| Canceled | The affiliate or the compensation fund closed the application. | — (final status) |

How to simulate a loan (affiliate) #
- Sign in to the app or the web portal and open Loans.
- In the Available tab, review the products: minimum and maximum amount, term in months and rate.
- Tap Simulate loan and choose the product.
- Enter the amount and term you want. The platform adjusts the values to the product’s allowed
ranges and shows you:
- The estimated monthly installment.
- The total interest and the total amount to pay.
- The full installment schedule (amortization table).
- If you’re happy with it, tap Apply for loan to start the application.
Note. The simulation is for information only; it doesn’t commit the compensation fund or guarantee approval. The final amount and term are confirmed by the operator when making the decision.
How to apply for a loan (affiliate) #
The application is completed through a step-by-step guided flow. You can pause and resume: your progress is saved as a Draft.
- From the simulation or from Loans, tap Apply for loan.
- Consent. Accept the authorizations and declarations shown to you.
- Information. Fill in your personal and financial data.
- Documents. Upload the documents the product requires.
- Confirmation. Review the summary of the loan you’re applying for.
- Electronic signature. Sign the promissory note with the one-time code you receive by SMS or email.
- The application becomes Submitted and enters evaluation.
Note. If your compensation fund sent you a pre-approved offer, you’ll see a notice in Loans. You can accept it with a single tap and turn it directly into an application, without simulating again.
How to track my application (affiliate) #
- In Loans, open the applications section.
- Each application shows its status with a visual indicator: Draft → Submitted → Under review → Approved → Disbursed.
- Tap an application to see:
- The operator’s review notes, if any.
- Action buttons depending on the stage: Continue application, Information pending or Electronic signature.
- The disbursement card once the loan is approved or disbursed.
How to check my installments and pay (affiliate) #
- Open your active loan and go to Installments.
- At the top you’ll see the total due and how many installments are overdue.
- Use the tabs to filter: All, Pending, Overdue or Paid.
- Each installment shows its number, due date, amount and breakdown (principal, interest and, if applicable, insurance), plus the days past due.
- Tap Pay on a pending or overdue installment to record the payment; you’ll receive the receipt.
| Installment status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | Its due date hasn’t arrived yet, or it arrived and it hasn’t been paid. |
| Paid | The full payment was received and confirmed. |
| Partial | A partial payment was received; a balance remains. |
| Overdue | The due date passed without it being fully covered (past due). |
| Canceled | The installment was voided (for example, after a restructuring). |
Note. If your loan is a payroll-deduction loan (libranza), the installment is deducted automatically from your salary through your employer and you’ll see it marked as paid for its period.
What the platform evaluates #
When an application is submitted, the platform runs an automatic risk evaluation before the operator decides. In business terms, it checks:
| Evaluation | What it verifies |
|---|---|
| Identity | That the person is who they say they are and there are no fraud alerts. |
| Compliance (SARLAFT) | That the applicant isn’t on restrictive lists, and their risk level (low, medium, high). |
| Credit history | Payment behavior, current obligations and delinquencies reported to credit bureaus. |
| Ability to pay | That the installment is sustainable relative to the affiliate’s income. |
| Score | A score that summarizes the probability of default and suggests a rate. |
With those inputs, the platform applies the decision rules your compensation fund configured and produces one of these outcomes:
- Automatic approval — when a rule approves it directly.
- Manual review — when no rule resolves the case and it’s left to the operator.
- Rejection — when a rule denies the application.
Note. Cases flagged by compliance as high risk are routed to the corresponding team for analysis before continuing.
Operator tasks #
The operator works from the loan management dashboard, which includes the application queue, the risk evaluation result, the disbursement queue and loan portfolio tracking.
How to review an application (operator) #
- In the dashboard, open Applications and select one.
- On the detail screen, review:
- The applicant’s data, the requested amount and term, and the product.
- The risk metrics produced by the automatic evaluation.
- The step-by-step review of the flow (consent, form, documents, confirmation, signature).
- Approve or send back each step of the flow (Approved, Rejected or Changes requested) with your comments. Once all the steps are approved, you can make the final decision.
How to request information from the affiliate (operator) #
- In the application, tap Request information.
- Specify exactly which document or data is missing.
- Confirm. The affiliate will see an “Information pending” notice and can upload what was requested (a file or text). Once they complete it, the application returns to your queue.
How to approve a loan application (operator) #
- With the application Under review and its steps approved, tap Make decision and choose Approve.
- Confirm the loan’s terms:
- Approved amount (it can match or be lower than the requested amount).
- Approved term in months.
- Annual rate, if it needs adjusting.
- Review notes, optional.
- Confirm. The application moves to Approved, with the affiliate’s signature and/or the disbursement still pending.
How to reject an application (operator) #
- Tap Make decision and choose Reject.
- Select the rejection reason:
| Reason | When it’s used |
|---|---|
| Policy | It doesn’t meet the criteria defined by the compensation fund. |
| Capacity | The ability to pay is insufficient. |
| Identity | There are problems with identity verification. |
| Compliance | Regulatory or restrictive-list findings. |
| Other | Any other reason, with an explanatory note. |
- Add a note and confirm. The application moves to Rejected and the affiliate receives the reason.
How to disburse a loan (operator) #
- Open an Approved application with the affiliate’s signature complete.
- Verify the affiliate’s destination account (or the employer link if it’s a payroll-deduction loan).
- Send the disbursement from the disbursement queue. Each disbursement moves through statuses: Pending → Sent → Confirmed. If one fails, you can retry it.
- Once confirmed, the loan becomes Disbursed and enters repayment: the platform generates the installment schedule and the affiliate starts seeing it in their app.
Note. For payroll-deduction loans, collection is handled through the deduction authorizations and the payroll change files the employer uploads every month. The platform matches the employee with their loan and applies the installment automatically.
Loan portfolio tracking (operator) #
Once active, loans are tracked from the monitoring and collections views.
| Loan status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | In repayment; it has upcoming installments. |
| Paid | All installments were covered; the loan is closed. |
| Past due | It has one or more overdue installments. |
| Restructured | Its terms were modified (new term or rate). |
From the dashboard, the operator can:
- View the loan’s detail: amortization, installments and payment transactions.
- Update the status or restructure a loan (new term or rate).
- Check collections indicators: past-due amount, delinquency rate, portfolio at risk and average days past due.
Warning. Restructuring a loan recalculates the installment schedule. Let the affiliate know, since their installment dates and amounts will change.
Frequently asked questions #
Does the simulation guarantee approval? No. The simulation is for information only. The final amount and term are confirmed by the operator after the risk evaluation.
What happens if the affiliate leaves the application half-finished? It’s saved as a Draft. When they come back, the app offers Continue application from where they left off.
Why does an application end up in manual review if the evaluation was automatic? Because no rule resolved the case automatically, or because there was a finding (identity, compliance) that requires human analysis before deciding.
Where does the affiliate sign the promissory note? In the electronic signature step of the flow, with a one-time code sent to their phone or email. The disbursement is only enabled after signing.
How does the affiliate pay if their loan is a payroll-deduction loan? They don’t pay manually: the installment is deducted from their payroll through the employer and shows as paid for the corresponding period.
